A SAFe® Agilist is a certified professional who has completed the Scaled Agile Framework certification exam, offered by the accreditation body Scaled Agile, Inc®. This certification equips individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively handle the challenges of creating and delivering enterprise-level software, products and solutions keeping in mind customer-centricity and fast time to market. Certified SAFe® Agilists are equipped to guide organizations of all levels, including Portfolio, Program, Team, and large solutions, in their software and system development efforts.

Obtaining the Leading SAFe® certification demonstrates a candidate’s proficiency in:
● Implementing lean-agile principles to achieve Business Agility,
● Apply the SAFe® framework, and
● Apply the principles of the product development flow within value stream thinking.
By completing the Leading SAFe® course, professionals gain hands-on experience in utilizing the Scaled
Framework in their respective organizations.

The Certified Leading SAFe® (SA) course is open to anyone interested in learning about the SAFe® framework and developing the skills to apply it, with no prior qualifications required. However, those planning to take the
certification exam may find it beneficial to have at least 5 years of experience in areas such as software development, testing, business analysis, product management, or project management, as well as some
experience with Scrum.

When you register for the remote course, you will receive a digital workbook as part of your enrollment. ValueX2 via Scaled Agile Inc.® community platform will provide digital workbooks for all class participants and offer a wide range of online resources through the SAFe® community platform. You can also print a copy of your digital workbook by downloading a PDF to your computer and printing it as needed.

The training costs cover the cost of certification for one year. After 12 months have passed, you will need to renew your certification annually with Scaled Agile Inc®.

To renew your membership, please follow these steps:

a. Log in to the SAFe® Community
b. Click on the “Renew” button located next to your membership expiration date on the homepage
c. Review and select the membership level that best suits your needs from the options presented.

Renewing your certification is included when you renew your Certified Membership. You can find a link to your “My Certs" page on your SAFe® Community Platform homepage, where all your certifications will be
listed. The expiration date of your certification is based on the date of purchase. If you renew before the expiration date, you’ll be given 12 months from the listed expiration date, if you renew after the expiration

date, you’ll be given 12 months from the date of purchase. Note that you don’t need to take the exam again
to renew your membership.

You can renew your membership even if it has expired. Simply log in to the community portal and click the “Renew” button next to your expired membership. There are no penalties for renewing late and you won’t need
to retake any exams to maintain your certifications.

You can often renew certifications earned on older versions of the Framework, but no additional materials will be provided. It’s recommended to retake the most recent version of the course and get recertified. Check the ValuX2 Training Calendar for future training courses.

You can renew your SAFe® membership 120 days before it expires. Once you’re within 120 days of the expiration date, a “Renew” button will appear on the homepage next to the expiration date. Your membership must be renewed annually to stay active. If you have any certifications, they will be included in your Certified or SPC membership renewal at no extra cost.

The exam will last for 90 minutes.

Each exam consists of 45 questions.

The examination format shall consist of a selection of multiple-choice questions, wherein a single response is required for each inquiry or multiple responses may be required, ranging from two to three options. The minimum threshold for a passing grade shall be established at 35 out of 45, equating to a percentage of 77%.

The proficiency requirements for the Leading SAFe® (SA) examination are foundational, denoting a level of competence proportionate with possessing some degree of knowledge or hands-on familiarity. Individuals are capable of executing tasks, albeit with the necessity of guidance or assistance. Attending the training with ValueX2 will give you all the guidance, tips, and practice sample questions required to appear for the certification exam with confidence.

Upon the successful completion and attendance of your 2-day course, you will receive an email from Scaled Agile, Inc®. This email shall include a hyperlink that will take you to the portal of examination and include all the instructions to follow. No, you won’t be allowed to pause the test and you’ll only have 90 minutes to do it. You can open the window again right away if you unintentionally close it. You must contact support@scaledagile.com if you are unable to access the test for a prolonged period of time or lose your internet connection.

Upon the successful completion of the course, individuals shall be entitled to undertake the Leading SAFe® certification examination within a 30-day window, with the first attempt being offered at no expense.

To adequately prepare for the ValueX2 SPC certification examination, attending the online training offered by ValueX2 is an essential and mandatory step. Our company provides comprehensive support throughout the training and after its completion to assist with exam preparation.
In addition to the training, we highly recommend the following steps to enhance your understanding and readiness for the examination:
Familiarize yourself with the exam format by reviewing sample questions
A. Enhance your familiarity with the examination structure and level of difficulty by completing the practice test
which mimics the number of questions, time frame, and domain areas of the actual exam.
B. Review all course materials, including the learner workbook, course exercises, activities, and personal notes
that were taken during the training.
C. Familiarize yourself with the SAI Framework website, and review relevant articles.

The exam is closed-book and can be passed easily with proper training. Our coaching and preparation activities aim to ensure success on the first attempt.

Access your Certificate by navigating to the Manage Profile and Professional Development section of our platform. Under the Certifications/Programs tab, locate the paper icon next to the desired Certification Name and click to download. Please be advised that when printing, some logos, and signatures may not appear on the certificate. To ensure all elements are visible, please make sure to select the option for “Background Colors and Images” in your printer settings.

It is possible to retake the assessment, however, a fee of $50 will be charged for each attempt. The option for a second attempt on the exam (first retake) can be utilized immediately following the initial attempt. For the third attempt, a waiting period of 10 days must be observed. A 30-day waiting period must be observed before attempting the exam for the fourth time.

If you take the exam within 30 days of completing the course, the cost of your first exam attempt is included in your registration fee. However, if you are unable to take the exam within this time frame, you can still access it and request a one-time courtesy extension from your Scaled Agile Community profile. To request the extension, you must wait until after your exam expires, and then follow these steps:

1) Log in to the SAFe Community
2) Select "Learn" and "My Learning" from the tabs at the top
3) Select "In Progress"
4) Select the course for the exam
5) At the bottom of the learning plan, click the blue “Extend time 2 weeks” button next to the exam
6) Agree to the terms of the extension.

This will give you an additional two weeks to complete the exam without charge. If you do not pass the exam or do not complete it within this time, you will need to purchase a retake. Note that you can only activate the extension one day after the original exam expiration date. This extension option is available for 30 days after the original exam window closes. If you are outside of this window, you will need to purchase an Exam Retake to complete the exam.

As part of your course registration fee, your first exam attempt is included, provided it is taken within 30 days after your instructor confirms your attendance. This 30-day exam window expires at 11:59 p.m. (23:59:59) in the time zone specified in your account settings. To view your time zone, please navigate to My Settings, then to Preferences, and make any necessary adjustments by clicking the Edit button at the bottom of the Preferences section. Remember to save and close your settings. Please note that it is important to ensure that you have
enough time to complete the exam before it expires, as any incomplete or in-progress exams will not be saved and additional time will not be provided.

As part of the course registration fee, your initial examination attempt is included, provided that it is taken within 30 days of your instructor’s confirmation of attendance. The 30-day examination period expires at 11:59 PM in the time zone specified on your account. An extension policy is available if required.

Upon completion of any certification course, the Project Management Institute (PMI) grants Professional Development Units (PDUs) and the Scrum Alliance grants Scrum Educational Units (SEUs) to the candidate. These units serve to acknowledge the professional’s participation and verify their understanding of Scrum principles and practices. In order to maintain your certification from the Scrum Alliance, it is necessary to acquire a specific number of SEUs every two years.

By participating in our 2-day Leading SAFe® training program, you have the opportunity to earn up to 14-16 Professional Development Units (PDUs) and 14-16 Scrum Educational Units (SEUs) credits. Additionally, attendees may be able to apply for 16 PDUs towards their continuing education requirements with the Project Management Institute (PMI) for certifications such as PMP, PgMP, and PMI-ACP. Through this training, you will earn a total of 16 PDUs and 16 SEUs

Professional Development Units (PDUs) and Scrum Education Units (SEUs) acknowledge your commitment to the Agile and Scrum community. These units are awarded by the Scrum Alliance and Project Management Institute(PMI) for your successful professional endeavors. The Scrum Alliance requires a certain number of SEUs to be earned in order to renew your certification every two years. The Project Management Institute offers PDUs on various certifications, with the exception of the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
certification, and expects a certain number of PDUs to be obtained to renew your certification every three years.
